Philadelphia’s godfather of graffiti, CORNBREAD, otherwise known as Darryl Alexander McCray, gave birth to the movement circa 1967 after writing his name over and over again, covering walls from reform school, to the streets of North Philly. He and his crew covered the city so much so that his stick-straight letters made front-page news in 1971 at the age of 17. Today his work is included in the Smithsonian Museum of African American History and in private collections worldwide.
We are thrilled to present this hand-tagged screen print of CORNBREAD’s legendary Philadelphia hand-style. Each piece features a custom spray-painted tag by the artist.
