SNAKE 1 was a Washington Heights writer and one of the founding fathers of WRITERS CORNER 188, christening it by adding ‘W.C. 188’ to his name on walls, buses and subway trains and later becoming vice president of the crew. He was STITCH 1’s writing partner and among the first approached by Hugo Martinez to join UGA. Due to the proliferation of other writers using the name Snake, he added the now-iconic slogan “King of All Snakes, Ya Dig!” to his signature whenever possible. SNAKE 1 never faded far from the graffiti world and might still be caught out there 50 years later.
