Sam Friedman’s infernal landscapes are the latest in his history of gradient colors, from pure grayscale to vivid brights, using collage, color sticks and paint. Some show discernible locations, contemporary takes on classic matter, while others are pure abstractions, slowly rotating psychedelic voids. Friedman lives in the Hudson Valley of New York.
