MADSAKI

Born in Osaka in 1974 and relocated to New York at a young age. Influenced by street culture and having a complex identity straddling Japan and the United States, MADSAKI creates works that ironically question the meaning of art and value of artwork. Now based in Tokyo, he has been known in the recent years for his works incorporating provocative texts and those referencing painting masterpieces from the past.
