Lisa Kahane

Lisa Kahane is a documentary photographer, author and educator. Her work looks at the interactions between nature, the city, art and politics. She was the principal photographer for Fashion Moda, a storefront museum in the South Bronx of the 80s, and is currently a Fellow at the Bronx Documentary Center. Her photographs have been exhibited at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History, El Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes in Havana and the Institute of the Arab World in Paris. Her work is in private collections as well as the permanent collection of the New York Public Library, the Museum of the City of New York and the Bronx Museum of the Arts. Her documentation of art and artists appears in contemporary art histories and is archived in the Fales Library at NYU and the Library of Congress. She publishes worldwide in trade and consumer magazines, newspapers and books.
