BEYOND THE STREETS presents a June 20 concert featuring Mike D, Pussy Riot, Circle Jerks, Dead City Punx and more

Paris, FR – Following the opening of BEYOND THE STREETS Paris at Grande Halle de la Villette on May 27, BEYOND THE STREETS is teaming up with Rifflandia, and Playground Love to present a one-night-only concert event at L’Espace Périphérique celebrating the intersection of music, graffiti, punk, hip-hop and contemporary street culture.

The lineup has been curated to reflect the spirit of the BEYOND THE STREETS exhibition itself, and brings together artists whose music has long existed in dialogue with graffiti, DIY culture, activism and creative rebellion.

Mike D recently announced his return to the stage with a series of intimate live performances and the release of his debut solo single “Switch Up,” marking his first new music in more than a decade. As a founding member of the Beastie Boys, Mike D helped define the visual and sonic language connecting skateboarding, punk, hip-hop and graffiti culture throughout the 1980s and 1990s. From New York subway graffiti aesthetics to collaborations with streetwear and contemporary artists, the Beastie Boys’ influence on global street culture remains foundational. The June 20 BEYOND THE STREETS concert was the first in a new series of live show announcements from Mike D, signaling a highly anticipated return to live performance.

Pussy Riot recently made international headlines following a large-scale protest performance at the 2026 Venice Biennale, where members occupied and demonstrated outside the Russian Pavilion in opposition to war and state censorship. The collective’s fusion of political performance, music, activism and visual intervention has made them one of the most influential contemporary art-punk movements of the last decade. Founding member Nadya Tolokonnikova’s work is featured in the BEYOND THE STREETS exhibition connecting her visual practice on display and the collective’s ongoing performance and activism on stage.

Circle Jerks remain one of the most iconic and influential bands to emerge from the Southern California hardcore scene. Fronted by punk legend Keith Morris, the band’s aggressive DIY ethos and anti-establishment energy helped shape the visual culture of skateboarding, punk flyers, street posters and underground zine culture that would later intersect heavily with graffiti and street art communities around the world.

Dead City Punx recently became the subject of the new documentary DEAD CITY PUNX, directed and produced by BEYOND THE STREETS founder and curator Roger Gastman. Following the film’s premiere in Los Angeles, the band participated in a series of events and performances at the BEYOND THE STREETS Gallery. This included the exhibition PUNX: The Art of Dead City & Friends, which brought together punk, skateboarding and graffiti communities from across Los Angeles. Known for their chaotic DIY performances staged in warehouses, underpasses and public spaces, Dead City Punx have emerged as a contemporary voice connecting punk music, graffiti, skate culture and street-level activism; embodying the same rebellious creative spirit at the core of BEYOND THE STREETS.

The evening will also feature opening acts by French artists Maddy Street, Freddy Jay and OHJEELO. Known for her vibrant, character-driven visual universe, Maddy Street brings a bold contemporary perspective shaped by illustration, youth culture and expressive street aesthetics. Paris-based artist Freddy Jay, whose multidisciplinary practice spans graffiti, graphic design, fashion and contemporary visual culture will also play.

As an extension of the BEYOND THE STREETS exhibition at La Grande Halle de La Villette, the June 20 concert brings the exhibition’s themes and artists into a live setting at L’Espace Périphérique. Audiences are encouraged to continue the experience at the exhibition itself, where the visual histories, cultural movements and artistic practices connected to the lineup are presented at full scale. Together, the exhibition and concert form a connected program exploring the ongoing influence of graffiti, punk, hip-hop and contemporary street culture across both visual and performance contexts.
