BEYOND THE STREETS PARIS: FUZI TAKES OVER PARIS

In the rhythm of the Paris subway, BEYOND THE STREETS, FUZI and TAG ÉDITIONS unite for the release of REVUE TAG #8 — Special Spotters / Paris Subway, a special edition dedicated to the living, moving archive of Parisian graffiti.

Dedicated to graffiti across the Paris subway system, this issue explores the practice through the eyes of spotters: those who track, photograph, and document these moving, often ephemeral works.

Printed as a large-format, 16-page full-color newspaper, REVUE TAG #8 will be produced in 4,500 copies total and distributed for free across Paris, including in the subway, in the streets, and through a curated selection of cultural and independent locations.

Selected drop-off points will include Hôtel Grand Amour, 400ML, Librairie Sans Titre, Sonny’s Pizza, and Shinzo.

Additional copies will be distributed throughout the day across the Paris subway network and in key public areas of the city: Canal Saint-Martin, République, and Les Halles.

Throughout the entire journey, FUZI will be present at each selected drop-off point, accompanying the release and meeting the public along the route.

A special limited-edition T-shirt, created exclusively for the occasion, will also be available at each stop across the city.

About FUZI

FUZI (Stanislas Baritaux, born 1975 in Paris) is a French multidisciplinary artist whose work has strongly influenced both contemporary graffiti and tattoo culture. Emerging in the mid-1990s Paris street scene, he developed an instinctive, rule-breaking approach that evolved into the “Ignorant Style,” an intentionally raw, unpolished aesthetic inspired by early New York graffiti, outsider art, and the immediacy of urban culture. In the mid-2000s, he extended this language into tattooing, beginning in 2007, using it as a way to reclaim artistic intent within a field he felt had become overly standardized. Rejecting traditional studio settings, he turned tattooing into a performative practice carried out in unconventional environments such as tunnels, rooftops, abandoned churches, and rail yards.

His “ignorant tattoos” quickly spread from underground circles to a global movement spanning cities such as New York, Los Angeles, Berlin, Taipei, and Sydney. His broader practice includes painting, illustration, photography, comics, publishing, and occasional returns to graffiti.

FUZI has collaborated with cultural figures including Scarlett Johansson, Diplo, Justice, Kavinsky, and Steve Lacy, as well as brands such as Adidas, Timberland, and Paris Saint-Germain. He has published books, created album artwork, launched in 2020 the first French graffiti podcast, and exhibited internationally, including a solo show at the Museum of Graffiti. He currently lives and works between Paris and Los Angeles, maintaining a practice centered on independence and creative experimentation.
