Slymenstra Hymen and Techno Destructo in Conversation — Moderated by Roger Gastman on October 3rd!

BEYOND THE STREETS PRESENTS: LET THERE BE GWAR – A Conversation with Slymenstra Hymen & Techno Destructo

This October, the worlds of art, chaos, and intergalactic punk collide at BEYOND THE STREETS in Los Angeles. On Friday, October 3rd, 2025, we invite you to join us for an unforgettable evening with two legendary figures from GWAR: Danielle Stampe (Slymenstra Hymen) and Hunter Jackson (Techno Destructo), in conversation with Roger Gastman.

An Evening with Icons of Shock Rock

GWAR has never been just a band—it’s a universe. For decades, the collective has blurred the lines between music, performance art, and pure spectacle, creating an immersive mythology unlike anything else in popular culture. Known for their outrageous stage shows, grotesque costumes, and satirical storytelling, GWAR pushed boundaries that few dared to approach.

This special conversation digs deep into that legacy, spotlighting two of its most iconic warriors:

  • Slymenstra Hymen, one of GWAR’s longest-running female performers, renowned for her commanding stage presence and unforgettable fire-dancing.

  • Techno Destructo, the armored nemesis and twisted creative force who helped shape the group’s otherworldly visual language and lore.

Together, they’ll pull back the curtain on the madness—discussing GWAR’s origins, the elaborate costuming and world-building, and the raw, unfiltered spirit that fueled their reign of intergalactic chaos.

Hosted by Roger Gastman

Guiding the discussion is Roger Gastman, founder of BEYOND THE STREETS and a longtime curator of subculture history. Known for his work documenting graffiti, street art, and countercultural movements, Gastman will bring the perfect lens to explore GWAR’s collision of performance, politics, and punk satire.

Why You Can’t Miss This

This is more than a talk—it’s a chance to hear firsthand from the warriors who lived, bled, and breathed the mayhem. Expect behind-the-scenes stories, untold anecdotes, and maybe even a little intergalactic wisdom. For fans of GWAR, performance art, or anyone fascinated by the way subculture can shape—and subvert—the mainstream, this is a night you won’t forget.
