RIME EVENT SATURDAY, MAY 31ST

Join Us for a Special Conversation with RIME and Roger Gastman – Saturday, May 31

BEYOND THE STREETS is proud to host a unique afternoon with legendary graffiti artist RIME, in conversation with curator and publisher Roger Gastman, to celebrate the release of RIME’s newest book, DIRECTION DIARY VOLUME 1. The event kicks off at 2PM sharp, followed by a book signing.

DIRECTION DIARY VOLUME 1 is more than a sketchbook—it’s a raw stream of consciousness created entirely in pen, without edits or revisions, during moments of clarity, chaos, and everything in between. It’s a deeply personal journal-meets-artbook that explores the mind of an artist on a lifelong search for meaning, expression, and self.

Across its pages, RIME explores themes of transformation, spirituality, identity, and creative freedom. He writes and draws through altered states and still moments alike, chasing the elusive point where question and answer coexist. “To be alive is to be on the journey of experiencing where the question and the answer are at the same time,” he reflects.

Rooted in the traditions of New York City graffiti, RIME’s work bridges street bombing, wildstyle, and abstract storytelling. This book is an offering—part psychedelic memoir, part visual philosophy—crafted while living nomadically across the U.S. in an RV, sketching through ceremonies, road trips, and spontaneous inspiration.

This isn’t just a book—it’s a document of process, passion, and purpose. It's a window into how an artist lets go of expectation and control, allowing the work to emerge as a reflection of spirit. Whether you're a fan of graffiti, visual journaling, or contemporary art, DIRECTION DIARY VOLUME 1 is is an unforgettable glimpse into the raw power of creative exploration.

The gallery opens at 11:00 AM, please arrive early to view our current exhibition, PINK CLOUD, before the talk begins.
