BEYOND THE STEETS x TOPPS Garbage Pail Kids Now Available

In 1985, the Garbage Pail Kids were released to the world by the Topps Chewing Gum company as a spit in the eye to the syrupy cuteness dominating pop culture at the time. The sticker trading cards featured pus-faced, melting, mutated or otherwise exploding children getting into all kinds of mischief, drawn by a rotating cast of artists. Real kids were so crazy for Garbage Pail Kids that the cards were banned in many schools as packages flew off the shelves. Garbage Pail Kid, Adam Bomb became a celebrity in his own right.

Surfing the waves of popularity over the years, Garbage Pail Kids made a comeback in the early 2000s when all things 80s were cool again. The new series stole the hearts of kids and adults, launching toys, comics and a clothing line.

Jumping into the collectible card market explosion, BEYOND THE STREETS partnered with the legendary Topps Company to release an exclusive limited-edition line featuring 48 modern artists. Each artist chose their own favorite classic character then added their own twisted to the iconic art. Beloved names like “Kennel Kenny,” Teevee Stevie” or “Wart Morty” have not changed but the imagery is all new.

“When Topps first launched Garbage Pail Kids back in the mid ‘80’s they never thought they would see that the original series would re-emerge as an art-inspired brand attracting collectors and pop-culture fans around the world. Partnering now with BEYOND THE STREETS and its diverse roster of affiliated, awesome artists is a dream collaboration,” shares Jeff Heckman, Topps Global Director of E-commerce.

Cards are sold by the box, each coming have 24 blind packs of 10 cards each + a special Adam Bomb chase card (only 100 produced) designed by KC Ortiz. A limited amount of boxes are now available through our online store
